Javier Camarena, tenor and Ángel Rodríguez, piano (Music)
Javier Camarena has become the fury of the world of opera, being only the third singer in the last seventy years of the Metropolitan Opera House to offer a bis. This same feat would be repeated months later at the Teatro Real in Madrid, when the aria beaver Ah! Month amis quel jour de fête of The daughter of the Donizetti regiment. The Mexican tenor is the first to be a bearer in two consecutive functions in the history of both opera houses. After his debut in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2007, Javier Camarena has been admired for the beauty of his performances in a repertoire of great virtuosity and difficulty, alternating with the most important figures in world opera, playing leading roles and under such prominent batons like those of Claudio Abbado or Zubin Mehta, to mention a few.
Of Cuban origin and based in Mexico, Ángel Rodríguez is a pianist and composer. He began his musical studies at age five and complements his piano training with maestro Gonzalo Gutiérrez, orchestra conducting with maestro Gonzalo Romeu, and vocal repertoire with maestro Enrique Jaso.
