UIMP rewards playwright Alberto Conejero (Theater)
The Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP) awards the XII La Barraca Performing Arts Award to the playwright and director Alberto Conejero. Royal Hall Laudatio, Consuelo Trujillo.
Born in Vilches (1978), he has a degree in Stage and Dramaturgy Management from the Royal Superior School of Dramatic Arts and a PhD from the Complutense University of Madrid. His theater has been released in Spain, Greece, United Kingdom, Chile, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, Paraguay, Argentina, Peru, Puerto Rico, among other countries.
Its dramatic production highlights: The geometry of wheat (2019), The days of snow (2017), Every night of a day , winner of the III AAT Theater Texts Contest; The dark stone, Max Award for Best Theater Author 2016 and Ceres Award for Best Author 2016, among others; Ushuaia , Ricardo López de Aranda Award 2013; Cliff (cliff), winner of the IV LAM Contest 2010; Hungarians , National University Theater Award 2000; Fever , second prize National Short Theater Award 1999.
He has also been responsible for various dramaturgies and rewrites: Medea (Teatre Lliure, next to Lluís Pasqual), Electra (National Ballet of Spain and Teatro de la Zarzuela, 2017), Fuenteovejuna (National Classical Theater Company, 2017); Troyanas (Merida Classic Theater Festival, 2017), Rinconete and Cortadillo (Sexpeare Theater, 2016), Don Perlimplín's love with Belisa in his garden (Fall to Spring / Metatarso Festival, 2016), Homer / Odyssey Project (La Joven Company 2016), among others.
In 2017 he published his only poems to date: If you discover a fire ( La Bella Warsaw).
